Emilia Romagna is one of the most representative Italian regions for quality of life and entrepreneurial capacity. With its population divided into small size centres which nevertheless have great civic, cultural and social traditions which have developed and evolved while knowing how to maintain the right sense of balance and a strong sense of community, Emilia Romagna can claim to be a real model for development based on small and medium-sized industries.

Reggio Emilia constitutes a fundamental part of this region and is one of the Italian provinces with the best economic and social performances. This is thanks also to the work, dynamism and creativity of its entrepreneurs who are able to create a widespread entrepreneurial system based on its industrial districts.

It is here that APIEXPORT was born, an association of small and medium-sized industries with the aim of promoting their own products in world markets, and of developing relations of industrial and commercial co-operation. A range of productions and technologies in all sectors characterized by a high level of quality and innovation, based on the characteristics of flexibility and reliability, typical of small and medium-sized industries. At the service of its memb

er companies, APIEXPORT provides high level support and service - from the promotion of trade missions to the organization of meetings with specialized operators, to information regarding financing, the transfer of technology, productive and commercial joint ventures - aimed at the growth and development of international economic relations for the system of small and medium-sized industries in Reggio Emilia.

APIEXPORT works with institutions and associations in order to give support to its companies' enterprises. An example of this is its close ties with one of the most reputed credit institutes operating in our country, COOPERBANCA.

In the last few years collaborative work with this Credit Institute in Reggio Emilia has developed in a very positive way: there have been several new enterprises, both in terms of training and as direct assistance to associates, in particular during a number of trade missions abroad.

This collaborative approach is still continuing at present, with attention focused on all the changes deriving from the introduction of the Euro. In this respect Cooperbanca, with the assistance of the Holding Company, Banca Agricola Mantovana, has opened a "Euro Counter" at the Association's premises.
